Rolex Day-Date — Ref. 18038

$21,500.00

The Rolex Day-Date ref. 18038 is an important transitional reference in the history of the model. Introduced in the late 1970s, it brought two meaningful upgrades to the classic Day-Date: a sapphire crystal and Rolex Calibre 3055 with a quick-set date function, making the watch considerably more practical than the preceding 1803.

The movement is the automatic Calibre 3055, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 27 jewels. The 18038 retains the proportions and design language that define the classic Day-Date, including its 18k yellow-gold construction and signature fluted bezel.

This particular example dates to 1979 and is accompanied by its original paperwork as well as Rolex service papers, adding useful provenance to an already historically significant reference.

1979 — Good Condition.

Please view pictures carefully as I use a very strong macro lens to showcase any and all imperfections. Typically, this will embellish the imperfections and/or lead to the inevitable specks of dust. I am always happy to provide more pictures at different angles, whatever you're unsure of.

I am a full time firefighter and am very involved in my community - my reputation is everything to me. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and I will answer promptly to make sure you are taken care of and we can have a smooth easy transaction.
