IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Racing Green — Ref. IW503005
The IWC Big Pilot’s Watch Perpetual Calendar Edition Racing Green ref. IW503005 is one of the more distinctive modern Big Pilots, pairing a black ceramic case with a deep racing-green dial and gold-plated hands and moon displays. More importantly, this was a 250-piece limited edition, making the configuration considerably less common than the standard Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar references.
The watch is powered by IWC’s manufacture Calibre 52615, using the Pellaton winding system and two barrels to provide a full 168-hour, or seven-day, power reserve. The movement is visible through the sapphire caseback, including its 18-carat gold medallion rotor.
The perpetual calendar is the real horological attraction here. It displays the date, day, month, four-digit year and a double moon-phase indication for the northern and southern hemispheres. The calendar was designed to account automatically for different month lengths and leap years, with the four-digit year display capable of running through 2499. The combination of the oversized Big Pilot architecture, ceramic construction, racing-green dial and relatively scarce production makes the IW503005 a particularly interesting IWC for collectors.
Please view pictures carefully as I use a very strong macro lens to showcase any and all imperfections. Typically, this will embellish the imperfections and/or lead to the inevitable specks of dust. I am always happy to provide more pictures at different angles, whatever you're unsure of.
I am a full time firefighter and am very involved in my community - my reputation is everything to me. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and I will answer promptly to make sure you are taken care of and we can have a smooth easy transaction.
