The 1201-1200 is one of H. Moser & Cie.’s more interesting Endeavour references because the dial is not just a fumé treatment, it is hand-fired Grand Feu enamel, built in layers over a white-gold base. The resulting “Purple Haze” surface gives the watch considerably more depth than a conventional lacquer or fumé dial, while the deliberately stripped-back Concept layout leaves out the usual logo and indices.
The other reason this reference deserves attention is the HMC 201. It is an automatic manufacture movement with H. Moser’s double hairspring system, designed with two identical balance springs operating in opposite directions to help compensate for positional effects in the escapement. It provides a 72-hour power reserve and is visible through the sapphire caseback.
The combination of the 40mm steel case, Purple Haze Grand Feu enamel dial, Concept-style minimalism, and HMC 201 makes the 1201-1200 quite different from the more conventional Endeavour Centre Seconds models.
