The engineering on this is so cool. The automatic BVL 318 measures just 3.3mm thick and broke a 32-year-standing record for chronograph movement thinness when introduced.
BVLGARI packaged an automatic column-wheel chronograph + GMT into a complete watch measuring only 6.9mm thick.
The secret to making it this thin is the peripheral rotor. BVLGARI runs it around the perimeter, keeping the caliber incredibly flat while leaving the movement completely visible through the caseback. It’s pretty cool to see it move around the outside of the caseback.
This is also a limited edition Yoahida Blue with only 88 pieces made. This watch is beautiful and looks like nothing else. Obviously feather-light and surprisingly comfortable to wear.
