A. Lange & Söhne Datograph 403.035 Platinum

$93,500.00

I am very excited to present this piece of history for sale.

The watch that put German horology back on the map. Launched in 1999, this was the first serially-produced in-house manual-wind flyback chronograph from a manufacture only nine years into its rebirth. How ALS is not in the holy trinity is beyond me.

This is the reference collectors mean when they say “the original Datograph.” Platinum/black dial combo, arguably the most iconic Datograph configuration ever made. A cornerstone piece for anyone serious about independent in-house watchmaking.

39mm platinum case, black dial, powered by the in-house caliber L951.1 (column-wheel flyback, outsized date inspired by the Semper Opera clock in Dresden, 36hr power reserve on display through the sapphire caseback). Lange built this movement from scratch, and the finishing shows it.

This watch was originally sold in 2008 and received a service from Lange in 2016 and 2020. I have both invoices, but the book was only sent in with the watch for the 2016 service. It is currently running extremely well on timegrapher. It also has two extra straps - the blue one is aftermarket and not ALS. Beautiful, though, nonetheless.

The watch is preserved in extremely good condition.

Please view pictures carefully as I use a very strong macro lens to showcase any and all imperfections. Typically, this will embellish the imperfections and/or lead to the inevitable specks of dust. I am always happy to provide more pictures at different angles, whatever you're unsure of.

I am a full time firefighter and am very involved in my community - my reputation is everything to me. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and I will answer promptly to make sure you are taken care of and we can have a smooth easy transaction.
